24 Hours the Le Mans - The top 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours

The COA has published the list of entrants for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011. Few surprises are worth noting.

COA launches new regulations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, including reducing the power of LMP1. The 2010 models are still allowed, however, with a flange imposed.

Everything changes also in GT. WG1 WG2 disappears and becomes the GTE, separated into two categories: a totally professional and amateur drivers with another.

Here is the list of entrants for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011:

LMP1

The traditional duel between Audi and Peugeot will be officiated by Aston Martin, which will be two models of its new prototype opened. ORECA has a Peugeot 908 2010 version. Note that the COA did not retain the Lola-Aston Martin 2010 version of Kronos. It is included on the list of reservists.

Rebellion will be two Lola-Toyota and the COA affirmed the rise of HPD (formerly Acura) of LMP1 in Highcroft. A ORECA 01 2010 version will be bound by Hope Racing, with a hybrid engine.

Pescarolo will be three in category: one for the new team of Henri Pescarolo and two for OAK, the colors of the Gulf.

The favorite will be the two HPD (Acura) incurred for Strakka, defending champion team, and now RML.

The new ORECA 03 is already adopted by several teams, ORECA itself, and Race Performance Signatech (the name of Signature for endurance), which will have two models by Nissan Motor. An additional team, Boutsen Energy, listed reservists with ORECA 03. Teams Sbarta and TDS will use the LMS but they will not be at Le Mans.

This new category is the fusion of GT1 and GT2, mainly with the settlement of the GT2. It is reserved for professional pilots.

The traditional battle between Porsche and Ferrari should be arbitrated by Corvette and BMW, present in the category last year. Note that Ferrari will be a new model. Aston Martin will always be shown and a manufacturer, Lotus, made his arrival.
